Karen Huger is getting released from jail sooner than expected.
Six months after the 62-year-old Real Housewives of Potomac star was sentenced to one year behind bars, Karen, who was denied work release back in April, has reportedly gotten an early release and will be back on the streets of Potomac next week as filming continues on season 10.
According to an August 26 report from The Jasmine Brand, Karen will be released from custody next Tuesday, September 2, following her March 2024 single-vehicle accident that resulted in a DUI charge.
As fans may recall, shocking bodycam footage of Karen after the crash saw her slurring and cussing at officers and name-dropping Andy Cohen, 57.
“What’s your name? I’m Karen. They call me the Grand Dame. I don’t know what the f*ck that means, but Andy coined that … Andy Cohen, he called me the Grand Dame,” she stated.
She also declared, “I’m Thomas Jefferson’s concubine,” and she said that one of the responding officers was “such a f*cking character.”
“Just let that chip go out … I wouldn’t do it. I will rise up. I am who I am … I don’t give a f*ck,” Karen rambled. “Can you run that by people? I’m really rich and I will stay in jail for a year or two.”
In addition to serving time behind bars, Karen was also hit with $2,900 in fines, five years of probation, and a one-year suspension of her driver’s license.
As for RHOP, filming on season 10 was delayed earlier this year, but it ultimately kicked off without Karen in April.
While some reports have claimed that filming has already wrapped on the upcoming season, an article earlier this week suggested it was still going on. That said, it’s unclear if Karen will be given the opportunity to return before the new episodes are completed.
