What Bobby's Plaque Says About How 9-1-1 Will Continue To Honor Him

Bobby's death dealt a significant blow to the team, especially his wife, Athena, who greatly mourned his loss after having built a life with him over the course of the series. Although she wasn't sure how to process her emotions, 9-1-1 season 8 ended with her forgiving Chimney for what happened and doing her best to be with her family.
Of course, Bobby was significant to everyone on the team, explaining why a placard will be placed in Station 118, honoring his memory. Given how directly the show is emphasizing his memory, season 9 will likely include plenty of moments that call back to the contributions he made to the team's many missions over the years.

Given just how big a role he had throughout the series, it's no surprise 9-1-1 will be honoring Bobby in a way that will be physically visible for the remainder of the series. Even as the team shifts and expands, his loss and memory will always be part of the series' journey, with the plaque a permanent reminder of him.
After everything he's done across the series, it only makes sense for Bobby to forever be a part of 9-1-1, even after his death. The show can offer a reminder as to why he was such a beloved character, while also emphasizing the importance of his sacrifice and how he did what any honorable leader would in a dire scenario.
9-1-1 season 9 debuts Thursday, October 9 on ABC.
