Ashley Darby Slams Angel Massie Over "Email From Production": "What Were You Thinking?"
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast had barely touched down in Nevis before Ashley Darby called out newbie Angel Massie's rookie travel mistake.
Being that it was not only Angel's first cast trip, but also her first vacation away from her two young children, Ashley first offered the newbie some words of support during Season 10, Episode 4.
"We're here for you, if you wanna lean in," Ashley assured her, as they waited in a lounge to clear customs and immigration.
Moments later, a representative arrived with the news that they had "a little problem with Ms. Massie," explaining that nobody is "permitted to use camouflage" on the Caribbean island. Angel, meanwhile, had brought along what appeared to be a camo Prada bag, causing Ashley's tone to shift in a confessional.
"Angel, did you not read the instructions?" she vented to a producer. "'Clear as day, it says no camouflage."
That's when an image labeled "email from production" appeared on screen that stated, "In Nevis, it is illegal for anyone, including children, to wear camouflage."
Ashley continued, "It literally says, too, that if you bring that, there's a chance that you won't be allowed in the country. Like, what were you thinking?"
Luckily, though, a crisis was averted when fellow Season 10 newcomer Tia Glover offered to place Angel's bag inside one of her half-empty pieces of luggage.
Why Gizelle Bryant also called out Angel Massie on the RHOP cast trip
Later on, trip host Gizelle Bryant also put Angel in the hot seat, claiming to the group that both she and Keiarna Stewart were opposed to her inviting Jassi Rideaux to join them on the trip.
Though Angel could not remember ever specifically saying she "did not want her to come" with them, Gizelle reminded her how she'd suggested that she invite RHOP alum Charrisse Jackson-Jordan instead.
"I did say that… because I didn't know you at the time," Angel explained to Jassi, adding that she's known Charrisse "for a while."
Despite bestie Keiarna's issues with Jassi, Angel insisted that she was "good" with the Season 10 friend, though. She also cleared up confusion about a "dig" some of the other ladies believed she'd made earlier about fellow "WAG" Jassi's now-husband, Darius Harris' NFL career. (Angel's husband is retired pro footballer Bobby Massie.)
During a group dinner later on, Gizelle singled out Angel once again, this time for supposedly over-editing her social media photos. Ashley, meanwhile, agreed with Gizelle, but Angel denied the accusation.
Angel Massie opens up about her RHOP castmate drama
At the start of their island getaway on RHOP's supersized Oct. 26 episode, Angel told the ladies that her goal for the trip was for them all to get to know each other better. As she later revealed, there had been some turbulence before their flight even departed.
"When I arrived to the airport, it's like I was a see-through sheet," Angel recalled in a confessional. "It was like they didn't see me; they didn't feel me; they didn't greet me. And I don't know about them, but that is not the way in which I would conduct myself towards a new girl in the group."
In a separate producer interview later, she added, "I think it's a mixed bag of support from the ladies. We'll say that maybe one or two reached out to get to know me. But as far as really wanting to get to know me, no, I don't feel that energy from them."
The ladies later observed that her energy had been off, prompting Angel to share that she's "just not the most talkative person" when she's around new people but was "getting around to talking more."
When Gizelle asked if she was even "excited to be around the group," Angel continued, "Yes. I am just kind of an even-keeled person, generally. Like, here's my vulnerability, right? I have a hard time being the person who reaches out to someone new. It's just hard for me."
