Madison LeCroy Gives Honest, Bittersweet Update on Her Relationship with Austen Kroll
Madison LeCroy and Austen Kroll, once romantically involved, have found a way to maintain a close friendship after their breakup in 2020. Despite moving on with new relationships—Madison welcoming her daughter Teddi and Austen launching a business—the two have stayed close. Their bond is now stronger than ever, proving that time and maturity can heal and transform past relationships.
Recently, Madison shared a glimpse of their friendship on her Instagram Story. She posted a screenshot of a text exchange with Southern Charm castmate Salley Carson, who had sent over a photo of herself and Austen enjoying drinks. In the picture, Salley sipped a margarita while Austen, the co-founder of Trop Hop, sipped beer from a clear mug. Salley’s message read, "We miss you," a sentiment Madison humorously responded to with a photo of herself sipping on a cocktail, her oversized sunglasses covering her eyes. "Looks like I'm the third wheel even from afar," she joked, adding a laughing emoji. She ended the post with, "I miss y’all," tagging both Salley and Austen, and adding "BFFL" (Best Friends For Life) to underscore the playful, yet heartfelt nature of their friendship.
This candid moment reflects the comfort and camaraderie Madison and Austen have cultivated over time. During a Southern Charm episode, Austen opened up about their past and current relationship, admitting that their romantic history had been turbulent. "Madison put me through hell. And I didn’t know if I wanted to date someone again," he confessed. However, he emphasized that their current friendship is much stronger, acknowledging, "Take the relationship out of it, we could’ve been hanging out years ago!"
Madison and Austen's journey together started when they were first introduced as a couple on Southern Charm in Season 6, in 2019. Their relationship was often on-again, off-again, and in 2020, they ultimately called it quits. But despite the challenges they faced, Austen has always spoken highly of Madison, calling her "a hell of a woman" and acknowledging how hard it was to walk away from her.
Looking back, Madison reflected on how their friendship evolved. In a November 2024 Amazon Live stream, she admitted that their friendship might seem strange to fans but emphasized that there is nothing but mutual respect and love between them. "After five years of time, it's like, you gotta grow up. We're adults, we work together," she said, explaining how their bond has matured over time.
When Madison announced her pregnancy with her second child, her first with husband Brett Randle, Austen was among those who congratulated her. In an interview with E! News, Madison shared that Austen sent her a heartfelt message, reflecting on how far they had come from their turbulent past. “He made me believe he's super happy for me, and I believe that," she said. Madison also joked that Austen would be the "guncle" (gay uncle), though she admits her humor doesn't always land.
As for Austen's romantic life, he was previously linked to Audrey Pratt, whom Southern Charm viewers met in Season 10. However, during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Austen remained coy when asked about his current status with Audrey. “Oh, Andy,” he replied, offering no further details.
Their evolving relationship, both past and present, showcases how mutual respect and growth can turn a once-romantic connection into a deep and lasting friendship
