Bronwyn Newport's mother is recovering from emergency surgery after doctors discovered a brain tumor in the back of her skull, days before the holidays.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star opened up about her mother's health battle in a series of Instagram Stories posts on Thursday, Dec. 26, explaining that she spent Christmas in the ICU caring for her parent.
"I am so scared and worried, but my mom has helped so many over the years. And refused help for herself always," Newport, 39 wrote. "It is an honor to get to be the one who is here."
"We are so hopeful after a long recovery, she’ll be her usual, feisty and amazing self," Newport added.

In her posts, Newport explained that her mother — who lives in California — was previously treated for a tumor "in an almost identical location" in the back of her skull, nearly 30 years prior.
She's been in good health since, but has been "struggling" over the past month, Newport said, "getting more exhausted and frail" as she cared for Newport's father, who has Alzheimer’s and in November, fell and broke his pelvis.
"After a few falls herself and a few doctors visits that weren’t productive, something clicked in my brain," Newport said, recalling that her mother "had similar dizziness, confused and exhausted symptoms" when she was first diagnosed.

Meeting her mom at the hospital straight from the airport, Newport was by her mom's side as the two "received the bad news" of the new tumor.
"I spent all afternoon with her in the ER, and then Christmas Eve too," Newport wrote. "I went home that night to be with my dad and one of his wonderful caregivers. Thank goodness you can get pizza delivery for three delivered on Christmas Eve night!"
The experience meant Newport, like many people with sick relatives, couldn't spend the holidays with her immediate family, including husband, Todd Bradley, and 18-year-old daughter, Gwen. "Super thank goodness Todd and Gwen adore each other enough to celebrate with makeshift Christmas Eve and Day plans without me!" she said.
But the reality star and her mom found a way to entertain themselves, watching basketball game on the TV — something Newport called "a silly joy" amid the pain. "Who knew my mom had so many opinions about the Knicks ’til we spent Christmas Day with nothing to do but watch together?" she teased.

Being in caretaker mode is something Newport learned from her mother.
"I was raised by the best," Newport wrote. "My mom has always been the ultimate example of compassion and service to others. My whole life I have watched and been dragged alone and eventually learned to participate and enjoy serving alongside her."
"Meals and presents were always homemade for everyone and anyone in her circle," she added. "More importantly, my mom would spend hours each week writing hand written notes to people she’d thought about that week. Cards and letters and personal outreach to those who were sad, or scared, feeling alone, needing encouragement. I’ve watched her babysit, clean houses, show up to help pack and unpack moves for everyone she cares about and anyone they care about."

With that in mind, Newport said it was like "muscle memory" when she began to look after her mom. "I knew to get her cozy items, a photo of my dad, lotion, socks, her own toothbrush and hygiene items to find my mom’s cheerful, calm and patient self," Newport said, showing off the items she brought with her to the hospital which included a can of Pepsi and a can of Dr. Pepper. "And of course, a contraband soda or two. She also taught me my love for those!"
The Bravolebrity went on to share some tips for others
"Your own socks are way better than hospital socks" Newport said. "And my mom taught me nothing feels better than good lotion and foot rub and a fresh clean socks when everything else hurts."

As of Friday morning, Newport has not provided an update on her mother's health. But she did share photos of her family from past Christmases, as well as a scathing message for critics.
"This does incite a bit of rage in me, too," Newport said. 'The whispers of gossip about my family, and how we have handled trying to allow my mother her independence and letting her come to terms with needing and accepting help have gotten back to me. Those who felt my choice to be on Bravo and or posting contractually obligated and pre-filmed things online while I was at the same time trying to quietly help my parents and not yet share about this all… and then talked behind my back or worse online about me is despicable. Especially those of you who have benefitted from my mother’s kindness to you and your families over the years."
"As disrespectfully as possible, I won’t forget this," Newport said. "I am focusing now, though, on how grateful I am for the many that were truly so kind to my mom and helpful, as I was, in and out."
Teen Mom Kailyn Lowry’s father Raymond d.e.a.d at 66 as she breaks down in tears over their ‘emotional’ final words
TEEN Mom Kailyn Lowry has revealed her father Raymond died at the age of 66 following a health battle.
The MTV alum opened up about grieving the loss of her estranged dad in Friday’s episode of her Barely Famous podcast.

Kailyn, 33, broke down in tears while contemplating her feelings about her father’s death, whom she had only met for the second time two weeks earlier.
Raymond was in hospice after suffering from stage four COPD, which is a lung disease that causes breathing problems.
The TV personality recalled getting a phone call from her aunt, revealing that he’d died, exactly 14 days after she flew to Dallas, Texas, to confront him at his bedside.
Kailyn admitted that she felt differently about her father’s death than she would about her mother, Suzi, whom she was also estranged from, if she died.

“It’s kind of interesting because I’m telling people that if they have that feeling to reconnect with someone to go do it, but I don’t have that for my mom,” the former reality star confessed.
“It doesn’t make me contemplate. It doesn’t make me want to change my mind. The only thing that I’d want to go talk to her about is sort of confront her with the information that my dad left me, and I believe him.”
Kailyn dove further into her visit with her father in a Patreon video released on Thursday, but she revealed on her podcast that her feelings toward her father had changed after learning he’d tried to see her, despite his 30-year absence from her life.
The mom of seven shared that she recently learned that her father’s distance from her was “court-ordered” after he “kidnapped” her as a child.
She also revealed the questions she asked her dad and what she learned about her half-siblings, and she’s currently waiting for the results of a DNA test he took to learn more about her family.
‘I’M SO EMOTIONAL ABOUT IT’
After previously admitting that she wouldn’t attend a funeral if there were one, Kailyn shared that her father was being cremated, per the TV star’s request, and she’s planning to gather with her family in Texas to honor his life in November.

Kailyn’s co-host, Kristen Hook, then asked the Pennsylvania native how she’s feeling, overall, since her father’s death, which prompted more tears from the podcaster.
“Monday was really hard for me. And it was weird because I’d cry and then I’d be fine and then I would cry and then I’d be fine as if nothing was happening,” Kailyn explained.
“But it’s weird because I do feel disconnected from him, but I’m so emotional about it, and I’m having a hard time understanding that part of it because I don’t understand why I’m emotional about it when I haven’t had a relationship with him my whole life, so I really don’t know.”
Kailyn later reflected on how her kids took their grandfather’s passing, and said they “didn’t know he existed,” and thought he was already dead.
The Teen Mom 2 alum is a mother to a son, Elliot, 14, with her ex, Jo Rivera; a son, Lincoln, 11, with her ex-husband, Javi Marroquin; sons Lux, 7, and Creed, 4, with her ex, Chris Lopez; and a son, Rio, 2, and fraternal twins, Verse and Valley, 1, with her ex-fiancé, Elijah Scott.
Ramond also apparently didn’t have many feelings toward them either, as Kailyn revealed she showed him a picture of her children during their visit, only to be met with an unexpected reaction.
“I showed Raymond pictures of my kids and he said nothing,” the Coffee Convos podcast host recalled. “He literally said nothing. And I was like, ‘Are you gonna say anything?’ And he’s like, ‘What do you want me to say?’ That’s how matter-of-fact he is.”
THE FINAL VISIT
When she reflected again on her final visit with her dad, Kailyn confessed it was “closure,” though she didn’t feel they would’ve had a relationship had he lived longer.
She also revealed one of the last words her father told her: “You still look mad” at the end of their two-hour reunion.
“If I would’ve just had the opportunity to tell him that I’m not mad anymore, I really appreciate the time that you gave me…I don’t know if that would’ve made a difference for him or not,” Kailyn tearfully said.
“It’s more that piece of it is more for me, just to let him know that I’m not mad anymore, that part of it, that sucks.”
