In his upcoming memoir, Golden Years: What I've Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV, the 74-year-old Golden Bachelor alum detailed the aftermath of his split from wife Theresa Nist. According to an excerpt from the book obtained by TMZ, Turner revealed that he considered ending his life due to the public backlash surrounding his divorce.
“One night, while I was lying in bed and staring at the ceiling, it all became too much, and for the briefest moment, I thought about putting a gun to my head,” he wrote in part, per the outlet.

Turner, who was married to Nist for three months before they decided to go their separate ways in April 2024, went on to share that he usually has a “marathon mentality” about getting past negativity and "had never been the depressed type," but this felt different.
When he thought of the impact his suicide would have on daughters Jenny and Angie, Turner explained that he knew he could never do it. He admitted that rather than wanting to die, he wished he could escape the life he was living at the time.
"I dreamed of renting a room in some remote part of Alaska no one had ever heard of and not coming out for a month" Turner wrote.
Turner and Nist met in August 2023 when he was the inaugural Golden Bachelor. They got engaged at the end of the season, which aired in November of that year, and tied the knot in January 2024.
The couple announced their decision to divorce during a joint interview on Good Morning America on April 12, 2024, and Turner officially filed that same day.
"Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we've looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth, and we've kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it's probably time for us to dissolve our marriage," he said on the show.

Then, in December 2024, Turner announced to PEOPLE that was diagnosed with an "incurable" and "slow-growing" form of bone cancer, although he said he remained optimistic about his future.
“I feel great,” he shared on the April 15 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “Until I have any symptoms, there's no treatment. So I go frequently for blood tests. I'm on, like, a six-month schedule now, and I feel optimistic because the doctor has said, ‘Well, when you turn 75, we're going to have to go three-month increments.’ So it's telling me that at least he expects me to live another couple of years to get to that. But the bottom line is I feel really good.”
Turner has since gotten engaged to his new partner, Lana Sutton, who he started dating in the Spring.
"We've got BIG news. The Golden Bachelor is OFF the market,” Turner wrote in an Instagram post on Oct. 3, which featured photos of the couple spending time together by the beach as Sutton showed off her engagement ring. “I found my perfect match and she said 'YES'. I Love this woman."

Liz tells her that she doesn’t need this stress, which Portia knows. Now that Britt is back, she expects Brad to return as well. Liz brings up the conflict between her and Brad last spring, and if he were to return, would it be a problem for her?

Portia says Brad has been dealt with, but she can’t help but wonder what her life would be like without so much outside interference. On that note, she has something to attend to and rushes out.

Britt says Emma is the riskier one to keep around, as she thinks she knows everything, and suggests Dalton vet his research assistants more thoroughly in the future.

Britt takes off, and Dalton scolds Emma and tells her she is never to insult Dr. Westbourne again, and he won’t tolerate her insubordination. He doesn’t need her today and orders her out.
Britt returns to work at the hospital, and Liz asks her if she’s heard from Brad. Britt says he’s apparently off the grid, and if he knows she’s alive and back, then he doesn’t care. Liz says Brad came into money when he left town and wanted a fresh start, and perhaps he doesn’t even know she’s back.
Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way!
At Lulu’s, Tracy finds a copy of Monica’s will in the boxes of belongings and reads a note that indicates Monica left a copy for Tracy in case Drew tried to pull a fast one. Tracy takes off with the will and says, “Buckle up, Ronnie, I’m coming for you!”

Later, Emma meets Gio at Lulu’s and tells him she couldn’t get Dalton’s key fob, but she knows who can. They convince Rocco to borrow the key fob from Britt, and say he’d be saving Britt from going down with Dalton. He agrees to help and asks them to stay here to hand out candy to any trick-or-treaters.

Rocco takes off, and Emma asks what is with all these boxes. Gio says Tracy is staying here, and he feels bad for her losing her house. Emma says that the house is his too.
The Jig Is Up for Ronnie and Martin!
At the Quartermaine estate, Ronnie pauses before signing the papers. That’s when Outback rushes in, snatches them, and takes off with. Brook Lynn and Chase arrive, having heard the commotion over the dog stealing the contract/ Cody walks in, asking where his dog is, and is followed by Olivia and Ned, who have also come to see what all the commotion is about.

Cody takes off to find outback, and Ned suggests they return tomorrow with a new, certified document to sign. However, Drew insists he’s taking ownership of this house today and will be the head of the Quartermaine family.
Ned tells Drew he doesn’t decide he’s family, they do, and Edward would have been the first to disown him. Cody soon returns with the papers, and Drew says, for once, Cody is right on time.
Drew orders Ronnie to sign on the dotted line, and then she can be done with all of them and this house. Suddenly, Tracy bursts in and declares the sale of the house is null and void, and she has Monica’s real will!
Ronnie Comes Clean
Michael and Olivia tell Tracy that Ronnie didn’t sign the contract, and she ripped it up. Ned asks what the deal is with Monica’s real will. Tracy reveals she found it in a box with a letter from Monica.
Drew and Martin attempt to claim that the will is obviously a fake, but Michael counters that it’s notarized. Ronnie finally admits that the will leaving her the house was forged, but not by her; it was forged by Martin. Everyone stares at Martin, and Tracy grins from ear to ear.

Ronnie explains Martin contacted her, claiming to be Monica’s friend, and had a plan to make sure the estate would go to someone worthy of it. She never planned to go along with Martin’s scheme until Tracy was terribly cruel to her when she was trying to say goodbye to Monica.
Ronnie says it was revenge, pure and simple, which Tracy deserved, but it was misguided and wrong of her. She knows Monica loved them all, which is why she couldn’t take their home from them. She’s glad Monica’s wishes will finally be honored.
Ronnie continues to reveal that she also went along with Martin’s plan as he was blackmailing her, and if she didn’t sell to Drew, he’d charge her with fraud. Tracy wants Chase to arrest Drew, Martin, and Ronnie. Drew insists he was not involved in this, which Ronnie confirms.
Is Anyone Going to Jail?
Drew tells Martin they aren’t done here and storms out, but the family won’t let Martin leave. Tracy wants Chase to handcuff Martin and Ronnie, but the family comes to Ronnie’s defense for coming clean. Tracy still wants Martin cuffed and vows that when she’s done with him, he’ll be in big boy prison this time, not some local county jail.

Chase puts the cuffs on Martin, but Ned stops him from dragging him off to jail, saying he has a better idea.
In the Show’s Final Moments
At the hospital, Britt’s alarm goes off, and she steps away and heads into a room with her meds as Rocco watches. He’s about to open the door to the room just as Britt’s about to inject herself.
Alexis tells Sonny that she’ll look into Portia, but won’t make him any promises about her defense. Suddenly, Drew walks in yelling, “I want Michael buried up to his neck!” When he sees Sonny there, he asks, “What the hell is this?”
Jordan suggests to Curtis that they take this slow and wait until his divorce is finalized, and Curtis agrees. He goes to leave, and at her door, she doesn’t want to wait for one thing. She kisses him, and Portia arrives just in time to see.
At Lulu’s, Gio finally sees that he’s a Quartermaine and that the house is part of his history.
Laura calls Anna and asks her to call her, as they need to talk about Jenz. That’s when Martin walks in, and she can tell something is wrong. He explains he has found himself in a regrettable situation.
At the Qs’ place, Olivia says, “Leave it to Monica to suspect there would be funny business with her will.” Ronnie is sorry for everything, and Tracy is just glad Michael has his inheritance.

Michael is reading the will, which Tracy didn’t get a chance to do, and says Grandmother didn’t leave him the house; she left it to Tracy. Tracy is flabbergasted.
