Bronwyn Newport’s past is coming back to haunt her as ex-husband Brodie Stringer unloads shocking claims in a new tell-all interview
Bronwyn Newport is being called out by her former husband, Brodie Stringer, in a new interview.
Months after the 40-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star described their one-year marriage as “ill-advised” after images of the two of them surfaced on social media, Brodie has described the fashionista as a “social climber” with a “fake persona” who will “do anything” to remain in the spotlight. He also revealed that he’s “not in the least bit surprised” that she pursued her role on the Bravo reality series.
“That’s just how she’s always been,” Brodie said of Bronwyn in a September 18 interview with The U.S. Sun. “And good for her. She got what she wanted, and she’s halfway there, I guess. I mean, that’s exactly who she is. And I guess you can’t fault her for it. You can’t be mad at her for it. It’s just what she’s wanted. She got it. And I think she, in her mind, would do anything necessary to get that, if it has to be good or bad.”
According to Brodie, Bronwyn was a “social climber” and put on a front for certain people.

“She has this kind of fake persona that she puts on in front of people, in front of the limelight. Like watching that, it’s kind of she always has some sort of like, I don’t know how to put like, a dark, behind-the-scenes. It doesn’t surprise me that whatever drama is going on in her life, I’m just not surprised,” he explained. “She puts on this act and then, you know, behind the scenes it’s just a whole different person.”
Brodie’s description of Bronwyn echoes claims made by her co-star, Lisa Barlow, 50, who previously described her as “fake” and “concerned with climbing the social ladder,” and accused her of “constantly lying” and “being a different person” on camera.
On the premiere episode of RHOSLC season six, one of Bronwyn’s lies was at the forefront as she admitted that her husband, Todd Bradley, 66, who she married in 2016, didn’t actually buy her a $4 million necklace, which she claimed on season five.
Bronwyn “doesn’t seem genuine, that’s for sure,” Brodie noted. “It’s not like she changed herself. She hasn’t. She’s, you know, grown up. She just seems, maybe, a little more calculated in how she’s manipulating people. She had kind of this little bit of a dark side of how her personality was. And, you know, I bet she’s not happy.”
“The other gals in the show, you know, start the drama. And she’s just one of those girls that just looks for the drama. She loves the drama. As long as she’s in the limelight, she’s fine with it. So I guess, you know, that’s what people, I guess, in reality TV want. Especially those Housewives shows that I’ve seen, man, it’s exhausting,” Brodie continued. “The small little clip that I saw, it’s like, woof. If I was Todd, I would stay far away from that show.”
As RHOSLC fans may have seen, Bronwyn spoke of Brodie and reached out to him earlier this year after photos of them, along with her daughter, Gwen, surfaced online.
“My ill-advised, brief marriage (which I have always referenced in my public Q&As and never hidden) to this man does not make him Gwen’s father,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “She called him by his first name. He was never a father figure to her.”
While Brodie said he wishes “nothing but the best” for Bronwyn and is “happy” to see her get what she wanted,” he suspected her desire to be famous would continue.
“She’s just gonna keep looking for the next best thing and more and more and more fame or this,” he added.
RHOC Star Emily Simpson Sets the Record Straight on Shane Split Claim

Emily Simpson is shutting down the noise. “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star addressed a misleading claim about her marriage to Shane Simpson after Kim Zolciak shared a clickbait post suggesting the couple had separated.
Emily Simpson Claps Back at Fake Split Rumor

During an “Ask Me a Question” session on her Instagram Story, Emily responded directly to a fan who asked about the supposed announcement. “I just saw a post that you released a statement on you and Shane splitting?!?!” the fan wrote, including a screenshot of the rumor Kim had circulated.
“This is fake,” Emily clapped back, making it clear she and Shane are still very much together.
The 49-year-old mom of three also fielded another question about whether her new podcast with Shane, “Legally Brunette,” has created stress in their relationship. Emily insisted it has actually strengthened their bond.
“I think it has enhanced the marriage,” she explained. “I believe so many people love the podcast because they enjoy the authentic banter of a married couple discussing legal topics/true crime in a fun, informed and witty way. And I truly enjoy these discussions with Shane, and I think that really comes through on the podcast.”
The RHOC Star Opens Up About Marriage Struggles in Season 19
This isn’t the first time Emily has addressed the ups and downs of her marriage. In July, she spoke with the “Housewives Nightcap” podcast from “Access Hollywood,” where she admitted that season 19 of RHOC took a toll on her relationship.
“Shane and I were in the trenches during those, you know, four months of filming, and even afterward, it was very brutal on our marriage,” Emily confessed. “We weren’t on the same page. We were parenting differently.”
She revealed that the stress often left them exhausted and disconnected. “We were just, every day, it was like waking up and just trying to get through the day and struggling and going to bed and crying at night,” she said. “And then waking up and then doing it again the next day. And I just thought this is either going to make us or break us.”
Despite the rocky times, Emily reminded fans that she and Shane have stayed committed. “I mean, clearly we’re still together, we’re not getting a divorce,” she added. “We’ve had challenging things. We’ve been married almost 17 years now.”
Emily also shared her heartbreak over their son Luke’s struggles during the season 19 trailer. In one emotional moment, she told Shane, “Luke, he’s sad, and it breaks my heart.” In a voiceover, she admitted, “I have a son that’s in crisis, and I feel alone in that. We’re gonna end up divorced.”
But for now, Emily is proving that the rumors are just noise.
Fans can watch Emily Simpson on new episodes of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” on Thursday nights on Bravo.
